OneD is looking for the battery process technician to support the material evaluation at electrode and cell level. Candidate will work in a production technology development environment with a team of engineers, scientists and technicians, to characterize the nanomaterials performance in the lithium ion cells and analyze the data. The position is expected to perform experiments for new and optimized materials and formulations in the development of advanced batteries. The candidate is able to reliably implement the processes and is driven to achieve results. Hands-on experience in engineering works is a plus. The candidate must have experience with anode and cathode material electrode processing, its evaluation and its characterization.

Major Responsibilities:

The battery process technician must:  

  • Work in a team to develop and functionalize advanced battery materials
  • Perform material formulation works
  • Evaluate new material formulation and electrode formulation for lithium ion cells
  • Experience organizing a lab as well maintaining written and computer logs
  • Implement diagnostic test methods for the formulations, characterization and identify formulation failure factors
  • Update the project progress
  • Hands-on experience in process engineering

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

Process Development Engineer 

OneD is looking for the Process Development Engineer to support the material pilot-scale processes of our breakthrough and performance-proven silicon composite nanomaterials. The Process Development Engineer will work in a R&D and production technology development environment with a team of engineers, scientists, and technicians, to produce nanomaterials and its deposition on powder substrate. This individual will be responsible to develop smart process control for effective nano-material production, who is also able to realize the precise process implementation and independently think and is driven to achieve results. Fundamental understanding of nanomaterial chemical synthesis process and CVD process is a plus. It will be more attractive if having experiences on the solid-liquid mixing and separation.

Major Responsibilities: 

The responsible Process Development Engineer must:   

  • Fully understand and scale-up our existing processes. 
  • Design and execute experiments to successfully develop smart process control  
  • Enable continuous or semi-continuous synthesis. 
  • Closely collaborate with other scientists, engineer(s) or technician(s) to improve the processes.  
  • Present experimental results and project status at regular meetings.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  •  Fundamental and Engineering knowledge of chemistry, material science, or CVD or solid-liquid mixing and separation systems, powder drying systems, and process control. 
  • Ability to anticipate and identify scale-up issues, troubleshoot and solve technical issues. 
  • Demonstrated skills in inorganic and/or organometallic synthesis, separation and characterization methods.  
  •  Ability to work effectively and independently in a goal-driven multi-disciplinary team environment. 
  •  Fully proficient with Microsoft office, as well as abilities for drawings and modeling.

Major Responsibilities:

The Mechanical Engineer Must:

  • Equipment System Design: Designing and developing state-of-the-art equipment (like furnaces) systems for a variety of industrial applications, including pilot lines and large factories. Experience in Semiconductors or Solar equipment is a plus.
  • Engineering Analysis: Conducting stress analysis, thermal simulations, and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) to ensure the efficiency, safety, and reliability of equipment components and systems.
  • Material Selection: Choosing appropriate materials for furnace components, considering factors like temperature resistance, mechanical properties, and cost-effectiveness.
  • Cost Optimization: Finding innovative ways to reduce manufacturing costs while maintaining high-quality standards and performance of equipment and spare parts/consumables.
  • Compliance and Standards: Ensuring all furnace system designs comply with industry regulations, safety standards, and environmental requirements.
  • Technical Documentation: Creating detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and documentation for manufacturing and assembly of equipment.
  • Collaboration: Working closely with cross-functional teams, including electrical engineers, project managers, and technicians, to ensure seamless integration of furnace systems into larger industrial settings.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identifying opportunities for design improvements, reliability enhancements, and performance optimization.
  • Pilot Line and Large Factory Design: Participating in the design and layout planning for pilot lines and large factories, ensuring optimal placement of equipment for logistics.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Proven experience in the design and manufacturing of furnace systems for industrial settings.
  • Proficiency in CAD software, such as SolidWorks.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, including knowledge of stress analysis and CFD.
